Katha 011: Long Story

Wild · The Chambal river

Ask me how I got this nose.

The gharial has the longest, thinnest snout of any crocodile, built for snapping up fish. Grown males get a round bump on the tip called a ghara, after the clay pot, which is how the gharial got its name. It's critically endangered, and most of the ones left live along the Chambal. It's a long story. Wear it.
